Dish:
Frozen Beaujolais Wine Granite
Ingredients:
1 750 ml bottle Beaujolais wine
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup water
2/3 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Boil the sugar with the water and set aside to cool

Mix this syrup with all other ingredients and place. in a wide, shallow metal or pyrex baking dish
|

Set dish in freezer and when ice crystals start to form around edges, scrape them with a fork to prevent freezing solid
|
| 4. |
Repeat this step every 30 minutes or so until granite is frozen but broken up into crystals
|
| 5. |
Serve in chilled glasses or bowls with mint and fresh fruit
