Pikes Clare Valley Riesling 2003
The wine offers aromas of lime, tangerine and hints of steely minerals. On the palate those citrus notes are further accentuated, with a lush mouthful of vibrant flavors. The finish is long and appropriately dry. Beautiful drinking now and years to go. The favorite of the flight. |

Straw green color, aged in French oak barrels 10 - 12 months.The bouquet was of underlying malt and fresh pears. The palate was full and mouth filling and of dried fruit and nuts. A balanced wine lasting 3 more years in the cellar. |

Penley Estate Coonawarra Chardonnay 2000
The color is medium yellow with touches of green. The aroma is melon and grassy fruit with a hint of soft French oak. The flavors are soft and smooth with lingering melon fruits. The oak is subtle but discernible, enhancing the grape flavors not overpowering them. A complex wine enhanced through malolactic fermentation. An elegant style with complexity of flavor, oak and acid. The favorite of this flight.
