2010 Eroica - 91 Wine Advocate
Grapes: 100% Riesling 12.5% Alcohol. This magnificent wine represents winemaking collaboration between Bob Gertheau, CSM winemaker and Dr Ernst Loosen of Germany. The wine is made primarily of selected lots from the cooler regions of the Yakima Valley, with resources coming from St Michelle Estates' Horse Heaven vineyard and adding a new vineyard source from north of Wahluke slope AVA. Berries go direct to press, then the juice is cool fermented to capture freshness and minerality. The 2010 Eroica Riesling exudes mandarin orange and sweet lime aromas and flavors with subtle mineral notes. The mouth-watering acidity is beautifully balanced by flavorful Washington Riesling fruit. After a more than a decade They have truly found their "Eroica style," beautiful bright fruit with crisp acidity and enhanced minerality. The favorite of this Flight.
