Gung Hay Fatt Choi or Happy New Year in Mandarin.
Sixty-two members of Tasters Guild enjoyed an authentic ten-course Chinese New Year's Banquet at one of NY's best Chinese restaurants. Zagat's 2002 rates the food a 20, and calls it "superior" and "the essence of Hong Kong." Food and Wine Magazine named it "one of the 5 best restaurants in NYC." AAA Magazine says that nowhere on the East Coast is there a Chinese dining experience equal to that of Golden Unicorn.. The dinner was accompanied by appropriate wines selected to match the superb cuisine.

Sella & Mosca 2000 Sauvignon Blanc
This Sardinian gem is a restrained wine with a pale green/gold color and a nose of fresh figs and white pepper. High acid which awakes the palate and matches well with food. In the mouth one finds more figs, melons and hints of dried herbs. Medium finish Paired very well with the Salt Baked Fish Cubes and the Baked Scallops.

Rocar NV California Sparkling Wine
Slightly off-dry but with nice fruit and well balanced. It was offered plain or mixed with Cassis as a Kir Royale. It was quite delicious as a Kir and was a nice match for the dumplings.
