Salentein Reserve Malbec 2006 from Argentina
and/or
MontGras Sauvignon Blanc Reserva 2008 from Chile
Both wines were a perfect match with the variety of flavors of the appetizers.
The Malbec a purple intense wine, with aromas of ripe plums, a touch of cherry and a touch of mint; accompanied by spice and tobacco. Its mouth-feel is very sweet and round. This complex Malbec offered flavors of ripe red berries, and sweet tannins and has a very long finish.
The Sauvignon Blanc displayed hints of fig, grass, lime and chalk, with a moderately rich, mineral finish.
