Speaker: Charles Rubinstein, Wine Educator and author
The Wine Journal said "Chateau Pichon Lalande (or Chateau Pichon-Longueville, Comtesse de Lalande to grant it its full title) is the closest you can get to a First Growth without actually being one. This is a wine imbued with aristocracy, breed and class. Charles friendship with the family goes back years. He has probably tasted more of their wines than anyone except the Comtesse. We tasted 11 wines. The wines were bought at auction. All the wines were in good condition. 1982 was voted first, 1989 second and 1986 and 1996 were tied for third. Prices quoted for each wine were found on the web.
