We have tasted 14 incredible Cote Rotie Single vineyard La Landonne's from eleven vintages and two producers. Only 400 -800 cases are produced each year. Robert Parker rates all of the Guigals' La Landonne vintages 96-100. We tasted 1980, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999 from E. Guigal, and 1989, 1991, 1995, 1996, 1998 from R. Rostaing. The Guigal wines were preferred over Rostaing's. 1994 Guigal was the favorite of Flight I, 1998 Guigal was the favorite of Flight II, 1991 Guigal was the favorite of Flight III and in Flight IV, both 1988 Guigal and 1999 Guigal were fantastic.1988 to drink now, 1999 great now but will improve by aging 20 years in the future.
