This tasting of 12 wines had the audience applauding each and every wine. Most had never tasted any of the wines shown. The Traslanzas Tinto del Pais 2001 and the Francesc Sanhez Bas Montsalvat 2001 tied for favorite with 20 votes (people were asked to vote for their three favorite wines). Third place was the Cuzcurrita Senorio de Cuzcurrita 2001 with 16 votes. Most of the wines had long barrel and bottle aging before release.
