

Peter M.F. Sichel
Peter M. F. Sichel, a fourth generation wine merchant and wine grower, was born in Mainz Germany in 1922. After schooling in Germany and England, he was apprenticed in the family wine business in Bordeaux in 1939. On the day of the arrival of the Germans in 1940 he fled from Bordeaux and ultimately made his way to America in 1941.
He joined the family wine business in 1959. Through a strategic alliance with a large importer, he was able to build BLUE NUN into a major international brand. He put a group together in 1971 to buy Château Fourcas Hosten in Listrac Medoc, of which he continues to be a major shareholder and managing director. He is a past president of the Society of Wine Educators and a past maître of the Commanderie de Bordeaux in New York.
